Affordable Recreation & Leisure

Everyone deserves the opportunity to belong, participate, and have fun.

The Affordable Recreation & Leisure Working Group helps create opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and income levels to connect through recreation. By promoting free and low-cost activities and working with local recreation departments and community organizations, the group encourages participation, builds relationships and helps create a more inclusive community.

We’re most proud of…

Bringing people together! From our popular free bowling sessions in the spring and fall to trying new activities suggested by community members, we’re proud to create welcoming spaces where everyone can participate. Our events bring together people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences, helping build friendships, strengthen connections and make recreation accessible to all.

Recreation is about more than staying active. It’s about meeting new people, sharing experiences and feeling connected to your community.

Our Working Group is always looking for fresh ideas and enthusiastic volunteers who want to help make recreation welcoming and accessible. Whether you have an activity to suggest or simply enjoy bringing people together, there’s a place for you.

And if you ask our members why they volunteer? They’ll tell you it’s because they have fun and laugh a lot!
