ABOUT THE FOOD PANTRY

Everyone deserves access to healthy, nutritious food.

The Carman & Area Food Pantry provides food support to individuals and families throughout Carman and the surrounding area in a welcoming, respectful environment. Rather than receiving pre-packed hampers, visitors are invited to shop for the groceries that best meet their household’s needs.

Guests are also welcome to stay for a cup of coffee, light refreshments, and conversation, helping create a supportive community space where everyone feels welcome.

The Food Pantry is open Thursdays, 2:30pm – 6:30pm (Every four weeks)

Register for the Food Pantry

To register, please contact the Food Pantry.

When registering, please have the following information ready:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Number of people in your household
  • Your Manitoba Health Card (6-digit registration number required)
  • Ages of any children in your household

A short registration form will be completed during your first visit.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the heart of the Food Pantry

There are many ways to get involved, including:

  • Unloading and sorting food deliveries
  • Preparing the pantry for distribution days
  • Assisting visitors as they shop
  • Serving coffee and refreshments
  • Helping load groceries
  • Supporting HandiVan transportation
  • Serving on the Food Pantry Board

From a few hours each month to a more regular commitment, every volunteer plays an important role in supporting our community.

DONATE

Community support keeps our shelves stocked

We gratefully accept:

  • Financial donations
  • Non-perishable food items (not expired)
  • Community food drive donations

Collection bins are available at several locations throughout the community, including:

  • Boyne Regional Library
  • Towes Printing
  • Participating local churches

You can also make a donation through Carman Wellness Connections. When donating online, please include “Carman Food Pantry” in the memo field so your gift is directed to the Food Pantry.

The Carman & Area Food Pantry works to reduce hunger by providing food support to individuals and families throughout Carman and the surrounding area.

Operating under the charitable umbrella of Carman Wellness Connections, the Food Pantry is supported through community partnerships, volunteers, and generous donations. Carman Wellness Connections provides charitable administration, financial oversight, and receipting, helping ensure the Food Pantry can continue serving our community for years to come.
