Our Work
Creating meaningful change takes more than one program or one organization…it takes people working together.
Working together for our community.
At CWC, community volunteers, staff, partners, and residents come together through six Working Groups focused on addressing the root cause and impacts of poverty while promoting wellness for everyone in our community. Each Working Group explores local challenges, identifies opportunities, and develops practical solutions that help people thrive.
How They Work
Each Working Group is made up of community members who are passionate about making a difference. Working Groups meet regularly to discuss local needs, develop initiatives, build partnerships, and support projects that create positive change.
You don’t need special qualifications to get involved, just a desire to help build a stronger, more connected community.

Food Security
Working to improve access to healthy, affordable food while strengthening community connections through education, partnerships, and local initiatives.

Supporting Emotional Health
Promoting mental wellness, reducing stigma, and increasing awareness of supports and resources available in our community.

Education & Employment
Helping individuals access learning opportunities, build skills, and connect with resources that support employment and financial stability.

Affordable Housing
Advocating for safe, affordable housing options while supporting initiatives and partnerships that help address local housing needs and strengthen housing stability.
Our Working Groups are always looking for new members and fresh perspectives. If you’re passionate about making a difference in Carman and area, we’d live to have you join us.
